Valentine's Day Bookmark
Make a pretty bookmark that's really heartfelt!

Supplies Needed:
- Elmer's Extra Strength All Purpose Glue Stick
- Elmer's 3D Washable Paint Pens™
- Construction Paper
- Elmer's Foam Stickers
- Craft Stick (Or recycle a stick from a frozen treat if you can!)
- Scissors
- Pencil

Instructions
- Fold a 3" by 6" piece of construction paper in half to form a square.
- Draw a heart on the square with a pencil. Cut it out. You will be cutting out two hearts at one time.
- Decorate the hearts using Elmer's 3D Washable Paint Pens™ and foam stickers. Let the paint dry completely.
- Place the tip of a craft stick between the two hearts. Glue it into place.
- Use the Valentine's Day bookmark to mark the spot in your favorite book!.
- Encourage students to write their own versions of the poem, "Roses are red, violets are blue." Make sure that students' poems have four lines and rhyme. Ask students to write their poems on construction paper hearts and post them around the classroom.
- Have students research the history behind Valentine's Day. Ask students to include Saint Valentine, cupid, and February 14th in their investigation. Have students write a paragraph that includes their findings.
- This bookmark makes the perfect Valentine's Day gift. Have students create their bookmarks for someone special. Encourage students to design greeting cards to accompany their gifts. Have students mail their cards to grandparents or friends.
