Decorate your own special lunch box!

Think about how you'd like to decorate your lunch box.
Paint a picture on the front of the lunch box. Decorate the lunch box using Elmer's 3D Washable Paint Pens™. Let the paint dry completely.
Add Jiggly Eyes, sequins, or buttons to the lunch box with glue. Let the glue dry completely.
Use your lunch box to carry your favorite foods or as storage for your favorite items!

Teaching Tips:

Talk with students about the importance of making healthy food choices. Discuss the different food groups—grains, vegetables, fruits, milk, meat and beans, oils. Give students a food item, such as potato chips, and ask students to identify it as a healthy or an unhealthy food choice. If the food item is unhealthy, ask students to suggest a better choice.
Have students identify the colors of different foods. Give students a color, such as red, and have students name as many foods as they can think of that are that color. Then, ask students to identify the shapes of different foods.
Encourage students to write the recipe for their favorite snack. Give each student a recipe card. Have students draw a picture of the snack and then list all of the ingredients.
