Instructions
- Draw a picture on a piece of foam board with a pencil.
- Trace the outline of the drawing with Elmer's 3D Washable Glitter Paint Pens™.
- Color in any empty spaces with the glitter pens.
- Let the paint dry completely.
- Hang up your sparkly glitter picture for others to admire!
- Have students write captions to describe their glitter pictures. The caption should describe what is happening in the picture in one or two sentences. Encourage students to include a lot of descriptive words in their writing. Attach the captions to the back of students' work. Hang the artwork from the ceiling so that people can admire both the artwork and the captions.
- Use Elmer's 3D Washable Glitter Paint Pens™for a hands-on learning activity! The 3D paint will dry in raised lines, which are tactile. Ask a student to write letters or words or draw simple pictures or shapes. Then, have another student close his or her eyes, trace the paint with a finger, and guess what the first student has drawn.
- Why does glitter sparkle? Discuss the reflective property of glitter with your students. Talk about how glitter is made from tiny pieces of paper or plastic that are usually metallic, neon, or iridescent. Light hits the shimmering material and bounces off of it, causing it to sparkle and shine!
