Teaching Tips:
• Extend this activity by asking students to create mazes on paper. Give each student a sheet of paper. Have students pick a theme and then draw a complex maze incorporating the theme. Encourage students to switch papers and solve each other’s mazes!
• Create an obstacle course maze in your classroom. Set up a course that will have students go around chairs, under tables, and between desks. Show students how to navigate the maze. Then, encourage students to complete the maze one at a time.
• Have students keep track of the time it takes other students to complete their maze. Then, ask students to create a graph to display the results. Talk about the different graphs used to display information, such as bar graphs and line graphs. Model each type of graph for your students.
