- Elmer's X-ACTO Self-Healing Cutting Mat
- (4) 12" x 12" scrapbook papers, Autumn Splendor Paper Collection - Making Memories
- (4) 5"x 7" gold leaves
- Glue gun and glue sticks
- Acrylic ruler
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Natural paper crimps
- Coffee-themed gift items
Instructions
- Use pencil to trace box side pattern, four times, onto Elmer's« Foam Board. An adult should use Elmer's« X-ACTO Knife (with new blade) and acrylic ruler on Elmer's Cutting Mat to cut Foam Board pieces. (Hint: Score lightly first and then press more firmly to cut deeper, with several passes of the knife. Replace blades often.)
- Before gluing, hold up box sides to see how to connect them by aligning the foam edge of one Foam Board side against the paper edge of another. (Note that the foam edges of two opposite sides will be up against each of the other paper sides.) Working at one corner at a time, apply hot glue to foam edge and press into place, holding until set. Repeat with other corners.
- For box base, set box sides-unit on top of Foam Board and trace all around bottom edge. Use X-ACTO Knife and Cutting Mat to cut base. Apply hot glue to foam edges on bottom of sides-unit and press onto base.
- Determine coordinating 12" x 12" papers for box sides. To attach paper, work on one side at a time and apply Elmer's Craft Bond Glue Stick to side. Align edge of paper at top of box side and press down paper. Place side of box down on Cutting Mat and use X-ACTO Knife to trim excess paper around sides. Similarly, attach paper to other sides of box.
- Cut four 5/8" x 8 1/4" strips from copper paper. Apply Glue Stick to top edge of box and attach strips, overlapping at corners.
- Use glue gun to attach one gold leaf to each side of box. Fill box with paper crimps and coffee gift items.
